Ford has cooked up a new one for the 2009 Mustang — a glass roof. Similar to Porsche’s Targa, the 3’x3’ sheet of double-paned glass is a pretty neat trick, giving the illusion of a vastly spacious interior and letting in all the light of a convertible. FoMoCo’s using the thing to flaunt its health awareness, saying that a protective film between the two layers of safety glass filters all kinds of nastiness from the sun but still lets in enough of the good stuff for ‘light-therapy.’ We say it was cooler before they started bringing in shrinks and docs. But hey, whatever sells cars. Considering it’s a $2,000 option, us Fiends would rather have our Pony topless. Spoiler delete box checked, too.
