The boys in Detroit have something to brag about. Something big. GM just released the delicious details on the often dreamt about new CTS-V. The killer Caddy sports a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 under the hood, spewing a mammoth 556 horsepower and 551 lbs of Newton’s best. That’s 55 ponies more than an ’09 Z06 with more than twice the seating capacity. GM claims the car’s 0-60 (3.9 seconds) and quarter mile (12 seconds flat at 118 mph) make it the fastest V8 sedan in production. We doubt that claim matters, as regardless the CTS-V will be a blast to drive. And by blast we’re thinking riot-pump shotgun in a TV showroom. This Crest comes with a manual 6-speed tranny or a paddle-operated slush box. We’ll take the stick, please. The 2009 CTS-V should hit show rooms by the end of this year. At a smidge over $50,000, they should go faster than sno cones in July.
