Despite it’s silly name, there is little question that Fisker’s PHEV Karma will be the world’s sexiest sedan when it debuts. I mean, is that a four-door Corvette or what? The performance ain’t bad, either. Top speed is 125 mph and the big Karma can hit 60 mph in just less than 6 seconds. Plus of course there are solar cells on the roof that will not only charge the battery but run the AC while you’re parked. We’d buy one just for that last bit. Come 2009, we can. If we’ve got $80,000 in hand, that is. Europeans too, though they’ll need a bit more scratch. No final word on Euro pricing, but you can expect it be more. Fisker’s already taken 800 “firm” orders from across the pond and has dealer networks set up in Italy, Sweden, Denmark and Norway. Expect about half of the first year’s 15,000 car production run to land up in Europe. Assuming the Karma’s sell (and we’re thinking they will, just on looks alone) Fisker’s planning a second model costing half as much. Watch this space. More: Motor Authority.
