You know those days when 480 hp feels slow? We’ve all (ha ha) had ‘em. Put another way, if you just spent $126,200 on a Porsche Turbo (before options like the over-boosting Chrono Pack, gas guzzler taxes, etc) wouldn’t you be bummed to learn that a $43k Shelby GT500 makes 500 horsepower? of course you would. Hamann has a solution. You’ll still need to pony up the $126,200 for a 997 Turbo. But then they slap on bigger turbos, a stainless exhaust system, remapped ECU and an air filter to give you 630 hp. Then they chop the roof, add an aerodynamic body kit and 20 inch modular 3-piece wheels. McLaren SLR-style scissor doors, too. Oh, did we mention the ostrich skin interior? Sure, Currency Motorcars has that 800 hp twin-turbo M5 that comes with an alligator skin interior. And yes, Aristotle Onassis’s yacht had sperm whale foreskin-covered bar stools. But we’d still take the ostrich skin. Results? 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds attained in perfect, aristocratic comfort.
