Today is like something out of our dreams. First we hear that Renault is looking to bring back the awesome Alpine. Next we catch word the Lancia is thinking of reviving their legendary Stratos sports car. Details are basically nil, but Lancia’s CEO Olivier Francois said that a sports car is a “great way” to improve a brand’s image, which is precisely what parent Fiat wants to happen for Lancia, as the latter intends to position itself as a premium brand just below Alfa Romeo. Mr. Francois gave no specifics, but he did say that the mid-engined Stratos and Beta Montecarlos of decades gone by were great places to start. We agree. Above is the 2005 Fenomenon/Prodrive Stratos concept. We wouldn’t kick it out of bed, especially if like the 500, Fiat decides to bring it to the States.
