If you happen to be in Morrison, Colorado on Sunday, you might want to cruise on down to Bandimere Speedway. Dodge plans to pull the cover off of two SRT8 Challengers equipped with a factory drag package, the first of its kind in over 40 years according to the company. The unveiling just happens to coincide with the 29th annual Mopar Mile-High Natinals, which is a pretty trick event in and of itself. The quarter mile Challengers will be stripped of unnecessary equipment and sound deadening to shed some pounds. The biggest change comes from a complete repositioning of the engine and shortening of the wheelbase in order to alter weight distribution. This is no mere re-badging, this is a full blown race machine, straight from Dodge itself. Specs are shady so far, but Dodge says buyers will be able to equip their Christmas tree titans with one of three optional engines. All will be revealed this Sunday, so do what ya gotta to get down there. Something tells us these machines will be worth a pretty penny down the line.
