Hells yeah, at least according to Dieter Zetsche, CEO of Daimler. If anyone should know, it’s that guy, and he says the trend toward smaller, more fuel efficient cars lends itself to the arrival of the smaller Silver Arrows. Looks like the 1-Series may have some competition in the upscale compact market as A and B hatches, coupes, crossovers and cabriolets head our way. The smaller rides are likely to be cheaper, too, meaning more sales for a company that’s seen profits drop since gas prices hit the roof. So when will they get here? Only time will tell.
