If you’ve been holding your breath for the juicy details surrounding the GT-R Spec V, you can thank Road & Track for letting you breathe. The Newport Beach based buff book let slip that the juicy deets out concerning the Godzilla to end all Godzillas and the recipe sounds mighty tasty. The car ditches the back seats and a few other useless tidbits to shave 200 lbs off of the curb weight while gaining another 40 horsepower. That puts power up to 520 shining ponies and 440 lb-ft of torque (at least). Other tweaks make for a sub 7:30 Nurburgring lap time, possibly as far down as 7:25, according to the Nissan crew. That should knock the ZR1 off its high horse, but the Japanese giant will have an Audi R8 V10 to contend with for the number one spot should everything go according to plan. Want one? Better have $130,000 to shell out now. The Spec V’s should hit our shores by 2009. [Autoblog]
