Founded in 1897, Czech automaker is actually the third oldest in the world. They’ve been out of the car biz since 1999—the Iron Curtain Renault and Citroen copies made in the last few decades were not reflective of the more innovative engineering they had shown prior to Communist management and stopped playing well even to local consumers. Tatra does, however, make monster trucks favored for Trans Siberian transport and the Paris Dakar Rally. But the company is apparently considering returning to its passenger car roots and doing so, it appears in style with this 903 Concept that echoes the cutting edge design they showed in their golden years and promising a hydrogen fuel cell electric power train of the future.
