You’ve gotta love auto exec’s slippery fingers. How else would we have clear looks at gems like Infiniti’s G37 convertible well ahead of its intended launch? The company’s first convertible in years will rock an automated folding hard top and a super svelte sound system to drown out highway noise, but otherwise remains fairly close to the G37 coupe it’s based on. The same stout VQ will propel the rear wheels with 328 horses, but a new 7-speed automatic tranny should be available alongside the 6-speed manual. We’ve wondered how long it would take Infiniti to take the plunge on topless fun, especially considering the drop-top 350Z has been around for so long. While handling characteristics can’t help but be harmed by hauling around a portly hard-top, we still can’t wait to get our Fiendish hands on one.
