I was walking back from lunch the other day standing at the legendary intersection of Hollywood and Highland — yes its all glamour and glitz here at Overamerica Towers — when a Bentley Continental GT pulled to the front of the light. Now in H-Town that’s not exactly a big deal, since Bentleys are a dime a dozen around here, kind of like Hyundais. Except, being the car nerd that I am, I clocked the aforementioned Hyundai “H” symbol on the hood. A double take later and I noticed the same “H” on the wheel centers along with a Hyundai trunk badge and “Chrome” model nomenclature — though not sure what that refers to. Brilliant! A man with a sense of humor for sure. I’m dying to know the story here. Disgruntled Bentley customer with warranty issues? KDM Hyundai fanboy? Who knows? Unfortunately I didn’t have a camera at the time, but a mention of the car to PJ across the office at Vapors and he told me that one of his photographers had papped the same car outside a club on Sunset a few days earlier.
