datsunz1 Datsun 240Z Fairlady Concept is Fairly Dope

Every Fiend worth their salt (Fiends have salt?) loves the Nissan 350Z. It’s fast enough, handles good enough and doesn’t cost very much. And, if you’re not sick of it already, the styling’s bold and (still) interesting. Kinda. I mean, the current Z still looks like a Japanese interpretation of an Audi TT. More of a derivative than an innovation. We know there’s a new 370Z on the way, but we’re kinda hoping Nissan might consider Iacoski’s design proposal. Iawhatnow? Polish designer Jacek Kolodziejczyk, aka “Iacoski” who penned the pretty Datsun concept sitting at the top of this post. Essentially, Iacoski took the lean, minimalist fastback shape of the OG 240/260/280Z cars and combined them with the Joe Luis fist design motif of the GT-R’s blunt force trauma front end. Clever — and good looking, too. Will parent company Renault let Nissan revive Datsun and bring us a sexy RWD sportster to slot under the Z? No. But that doesn’t mean we can’t dream. [Danke Carscoop]
