In countries like Brazil, South Africa, and Mexico, the Chevy El Camino is alive and well. Or at least, the concept is. Ford, General Motors, Fiat, Nissan, Isuzu and others churn out car-based pickups for folks that just want an honest car to haul a bunch of junk around. Fiat has just unveiled its Brazilian-market Strada (not to be confused with Satan’s Lancia Strada), which is the best-selling work truck in the country. Also, look at how much ass it kicks! With only 85 or 114 horsepower, you don’t have to worry about chirping the tires (it’s front wheel drive only) and the interior looks as junky as a late 1990s Fiat, which it is. But with a five-speed stick and all kinds of honest lugging character, I’d be happy to park this little mud-plugger in front of my house. I just wish it had 4wd, even if it would overwhelm the hamster in the wheel under the hood. Enjoy the gallery! And check out the 500% Italian video after the jump. [And cheers to Carscoop for the Vid]
