A strange thing happened over at Honda’s testing division recently. While drumming up the numbers for the company’s 2009 3.5-liter V6—the exact same motor as plopped behind the headlights of legions of Accords everywhere last year—engineers noticed a few more digits roll up on the dyno than expected. Nobody’s quite sure where the three extra horsepower and six plus lb-ft of torque came from, but the ad department seems pretty thrilled. We don’t mean to be cruel, but an aberration that small could have resulted from anything from cooler temperatures in the testing room to a calibration error. Hell, the amount of oil in the crank case could make up that difference. Ah well, we’ll let them brag over the 271 horsepower and 254 lb-ft of twisty goodness. And rightfully so. [Autoblog]
