When I saw this initially on Gizmodo, I just about plotzed. All around incredible man, Daniel Deutsch, has put together an astonishing functional version of Luke Skywalker’s whip. Made from fiberglass on a custom aluminum frame, the Landspeeder rolls (pity hover technology wasn’t available) up to 25 miles per hour on its electric motor. Deutsch put in an incredible level of realism in reproducing the vehicle, including scarring and damage to match what’s shown in Star Wars. Oh and did we mention the scale model R2D2? Check out the incredible slideshow at his website.
