racing lancer 3 Mitsubishi Cross Country Racing Lancer Rally Car Goes Diesel

Mitsubishi just handed out these tasty shots of their return to rally. Branded the Racing Lancer (very original), the half/truck half/car should be tearing up the 2008 FIA Cross-Country Rally World Cup soon, and should run in the 2009 South American version of the Paris-Dakar Rally. It’s no WRC competitor, but it’s good to see Mitsubishi back in the dirt and dust where it belongs. The best news? The Racing Lancer is powered by a diesel V6. Could this be the precursor of a twin-turbo diesel Evolution? Nobody knows, but we can hope. Oh yes, we can hope.

Oh hell yes. They say Paris-Dakar is forever different since it no longer runs from Paris-Dakar or anywhere near Europe/Africa. But I absolutely love these deranged vehicles.
