We’re not saying one way or the other, but word around Rally Finland is that Kris Nissen, Vee-Dub’s sports chief, met with the WRC suits to discus marketing and technical regulations. Most folks are taking this as an indication that Volkswagen is seriously considering a foray into WRC, which would be fantastic. More competition breeds great racing, and eventually better cars for the public. While a rally-prepped R32 would be the most logical car to compete with, it’s possible the company has something else up their sleeves. We’ll just have to bide our time to find out what they compete with, if they compete at all. [From Rallybuzz]
