Tanner’s blog about his visit to a jealousy-inducing Lamborghini collection got me thinking. What was the wealthy man missing? Answer — an Espada! Without question one of the oddest Lambos ever built, I love it. I mean, what’s not to love about a large Italian 4-seat GT car with a 4.0-liter V12? Right, not much. Built from 1968 until 1978 the Espada was Lamborghini’s most succesful model (some 1,200 built) until the Countach wrapped up its sixteen-year production run in 1990 (just over 2,000 built). Most Espada’s were manuals and all had disk brakes and fully independent suspension. Personally, I just love the looks. Especially that the face kinda resembles Lancia’s Group B superstar Delta S4. Also, you gotta respect the deconstructed LM002 in the background.
