jota1 2011 Lamborghini Jota?

Or just another Murcielago iteration, like say a Reventon? Dunno. A bit of back ground — the Jota is a high performance version of the Miura. Actually, you can think of it as the Grand Sport of Miuras. See, Lambo had a very strict “no racing” policy. So while the Jota could compete in Appendix J racing, Mr. Lamborghini wouldn’t let it. Meaning that legendary test driver Bob Wallace was free to just sit around and make the Jota go faster and faster. The big thing was saving weight. A special aluminum called Avional was liberally used throughout, i addition to just a single wiper, plexiglass windows and a stripped interior. Weight distribution was also a priority (by moving the fuel cells into the sills) as was raw power. By the time the lone Jota caught on fire and was destroyed, it’s 440 hp V12 had just 1,764 pounds to push around. Sigh. Anyhow, this potentially Lambo is most likely not a hyper-performance version of the Murci but rather a replacement for it. After all, the Murcielago has been around since 2001. And a whole lotta supercarness has taken place since then. Next Autos is creaming themselves over some pics of a test bull on the ‘RIng. “Enzo Rival Ultra-Car!” Sure, maybe. But the more likely scenario is a new carbon fiber bodied aluminum space framed V12 range topper with something like 700 horsepower pumping all four wheels. Our favorite part? It’s going to be even wider than the already bootylicious Murcielago. Bring it. [Source: Autoblog via Next Autos]
