superlight Joy: Two New Caterham Se7ens

Oh yes. Maker of the ultimate application of Chapmanian ideals (Chapmanian — you like that?) has pulled the cover off two of its newest models — the Superlight R300 and the Roadsport 175. Befitting its name, the Superlight R300 weighs in at just 1,100 lbs, and thanks to the 2.0-liter Ford four banger out front, cranks out 175 horses. That makes for a power to weight ratio the Porsche 911 turbo can be jealous of with 30+ MPGs. If the Superlight R300 is a little too stiff for your tastes, Caterham is also offering the Roadsport 175 with the same power but a few creature comforts (like a heater you wimp) instead of track-ready equipment. If you want one — and we do — get ready to shell out $38,800 for a Superlight you have to stitch together yourself, or $43,400 for one built by Caterham. The Roadsport 175 will set you back $34,150 with some assembly required, $38,800 for a turnkey example. Worth it. Easy. [Source: MotorAuthority]
