greens5 My Friend Jacks Green Audi S5

One of the things I love most about Jack Baruth’s writing is his unrepentant contrarianism.  Think turbos are cool? Wrong! You want steam power. Low profile tires? Go back to you XBOX — all real racers drive on thick cement tires. Big brake kit? Use your grandpa’s WW2 parachute — the one down in mama’s basement! Seriously — I wish I had the balls. And that people believed me that I outran a Caterham Se7en in Hyundai Sonata. Anyhow, Jack’s up to his usual delightful tricks — this time arguing that for street driving FWD is much better than RWD. Polar inertia, homie. More importantly, Jack bought an S5 and had it painted green. Not just any green mind you, but the same green that you could find on a 1973 Porsche 911. Now, you might think it’s weird that anyone would opt paint a S5 a bright, lime green, and you’d be WRONG! All real Germans think of nothing but Skittles when picking paint for their rides. At least, so says Jack. I’m not going to argue, as he’s about 78% right. I think the paint job is fantastic and the car looks great. Sadly, I’m just not a fan of the under lying car. That chassis is too reluctant dance for my tastes. [Source: Speed Sport Life]

great car… needs a louder exhaust and the one in the picture clearly needs to be re-sprayed into something less eye-searingly atrocious

You mean Al beat you in that se7en? I can’t believe I fell for that.
