If you missed today’s post about the next ‘Vette (C7) and where it’s engine is going to sit (hint: not behind the driver), then today’s POTD may not make as much sense as it might. Regardless, if GM really needs a reason to keep the Corvette front engined, I present the above arguments. Those are Corvette C2s aka Sting Rays. One’s (obviously) a convertible, and the other is the insanely rare, highly desirable 1963 split window coupe. Aside from the gorgeous looks, it also (finally) had independent rear suspension. I’m not sure exactly where the race is, but judging by the hills and the yellow 4 digit dealer plate I’m guessing Laguna Seca.




I think, though I could be wrong, that’s actually the long defunct Riverside Raceway.
Very well could be, though I think it’s a bit flatter than that.
