Just ahead of its “official” debut at the L.A. Auto Show later this week, Nissan has spilled the beans on its new 370Z. The company hasn’t set a price as of yet (or they don’t want to hand it out just yet), but they have said the new Z will start at around $30,000. That’s not a bad bill for the 332 horsepower, 270 lb-ft of torque pouring out of the new 3.7-liter VQ V6. The new motor is good for all that power and 18 mpg city/26 mpg highway, with either the six-speed manual or the seven-speed auto. As most keen-eyes suspected, the car has a shorter wheel-base than the out-going model, with the rollers spaced 100.4 inches. That makes for a car that’s a full 2.7 inches shorter, but 1.3 inches wider. All those digits boil down to just one thing: faster than the old Zed. [Source: Nissan]

What about the curb weight? Has that been released yet?
No word on a specific figure just yet, but everyone’s guessing it’s going to hit the scales lighter than its older brother. Nissan’s using aluminum for the hood, doors and rear hatch this time, and the car’s smaller in general. Here’s hoping for more power with less weight.
