burningsoul5 SEMA 2008: Kia Soul Burner

Plucky Kia showed up in Vegas with one kick ass concept (the potent Koup) and a sharp dressed space wagon called the Soul Burner. And by space wagon we mean mini-crossover, or whatever category the Nissan Cube and Scion xB fit into. [Sidebar -- was just having a discussion with Autoblog Damon & Frank and the mighty Bumbeck about what to call little, boxy Japanese guys like this. I suggest "Hot Box" and they all laughed at me. Any suggestions?] Kia first showed the world its Burnt Soul back in Geneva, along with two other derivatives — Searcher and Diva. Then, we saw a naked (and production ready) Soul in Paris. While the Burner is technically Swiss leftovers, in our eyes it’s still a hot little box. Hey, there’s that “hot box” again. Stop laughing!

What was under the hood? I’d imagine they can turbocharge this baby to 200+ hp.
