This is exactly the news we need to brighten the automotive landscape here in the states. Not only does it look like the Lancer Sportback is headed our way as early as 2009, but it just might come with all the bits that make the Ralliart Lancer worth hooning. How do I mean? The detectives over at Autoblog have dug up Mitsu’s EPA docs on the car, and it looks like the company has registered a number of drive trains for the lithe wagon. Those include a turbocharged 2.0-liter coupled to an “automatic” six-speed. Sounds like the double-clutcher found in the Ralliart to us. That means this beastie should pack “237” ponies and put ‘em to all four corners. We can’t wait. [Source: Autoblog]

I consider myself a bit of a wagonista, but this fails to light my fire. And what do you want to bet the dual-clutch gearbox is the only one offered?
