Yours truly and Jalopnik’s Murilee “Sex Bomb” Martin will be venturing north to the frozen wasteland of Willows, CA so as to bring y’all coverage of the one of motorsports most grueling events — the 25 Hours of Thunderhill. Why’s it so tough? Well, Thunderhill’s a pretty tough track to begin with. Then you got the Nigel Tufnel “ours goes to eleven” factor. One hour more than all the other endurance races. Plus good drivers, stiff competition and all that. We’re going not just to get some frostbitten reconnaissance for the upcoming 24 Hours of LeMons Thunderhill event, but to support one of our Black Metal V8olvo teammates — Evil Genius of Evil Genius Racing. Better known to the Mazda community as John Pagel. He and his minions have two brand new ITA Spec Miatas ready to go for this year’s 25 and wouldn’t you know it — John wants the first two podium spots! And oh look at this — the Autoblog boys will be there, too. And while they may have energy drinks (whoops) and press passes (d’oh!), Miss Martin and me have… better wind-blocking facial hair, more heat insulating body fat and a bright yellow babe magent Corvette.
