hinsight1 Check It Out: 2010 Honda Insight

First of all, yes — it looks just like a Prius because it too is a hybrid. I guess we’re looking at the shape of the future, ’cause this is the production version of Honda’s newest hybrid. Honda engineers were able to achieve a “significant cost reduction” in the second generation hybrid technology. That means the Insight 2.0 will cost less than $19,000 — making it the cheapest hybrid in the world. Talk about hitting the market with the right product at the right time — where was this car two months ago? No matter, not only will gas (most likely) balloon back up but based off totally unscientific discussions with lots of my friends, Honda’s going to have the all important 30-something left-leaning post-hipster baby #1 demographic all sewn up. Hey, it’s not as cool as the original insight, but I’d still prefer one over a Prius. Plus, it’s a Honda, so a little bit of my money will go towards funding cool shit like the next NSX or S2K.

That demographic is still into ironic tshirts but not the skin-tight jeans, right?

    contender: Nail on the head.
