Not so long ago, our favorite cranky auto journo Jeremy Clarkson laid the weighty crown of Top Gear’s best car of the year on the Caterham 500. And we were happy. If you’ve spent any time around Autofiends at all, you know we’re suckers for open-wheel hoonage, of which the Caterham reigns supreme. Once the cameras were off and the crowds had gone home, however, Jezza found himself alone with his computer and wistful thoughts of tare-assing across the American desert in none other than the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. In his article for the Times Online, Clarkson gave his personal best of the year to the mighty Bow Tie, despite build quality misgivings and any reservations about a car built by us Yanks. Hop over to the Times to read what he has to say about the mighty Corvette, along with plenty of gripes about the year’s worst vehicles. [Source: TimesOnline]
