opelomega 4 Convertathon: Cadillac Catera Becomes Opel Omega

I just love branding conversions. Whether it’s a Pontiac G8 that becomes a Holden Commodore, a Holden Commodore that becomes a Pontiac G8 (it happens in OZ), or a Dodge Sprinter turning into its rightful Mercedes Sprinting heir. I always liked the idea of turning the US Cadillac Catera into the Opel Omega from whence it came, and it turns out that other people were on board with that, too. You can buy one now on eBay Motors with a complete Opel Omega body kit conversion, logos, and even a new engine cover. The only major omission is that the Cadillac radio stack still sits in the dash. Looks sharp, but at $11,000 it’s at least twice as expensive as an unconverted Catera. And besides, why not drop in an LS1 V8 and go old school Holden Commodore SS? [eBay Motors]
