You probably know it as the the car Top Gear attempted to turn into a space shuttle. However, strapping massive rockets to the back isn’t the only way to give a Reliant Robin some extra power. Take this for example, it’s a Robin that’s been fitted with the engine from a Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R. That screamin’ four-banger, bolted to the Kawasaki gearbox, sends power to wheels via the rear end of a Mk II Escort. The engine is good for let’s say 125 hp — that may not sound like much but A) the Robin’s original mill produced just 40 hp and B) the Robin weighs about 1,000 pounds. Though the Robin hasn’t been rigged with training wheels in front to keep the car from inevitably rolling over. Despite all this, the Ninja-Robin is still street legal, and just sold for a measly £970 on eBay. That’s about $1500 for a rev-happy, three-legged, hoon machine. hmmm… and what about its front wheels? is it a joke? how can it move on on just two wheels? i looked attentively at the picture, stil found nothing… it is a note for all fool’s day!)))
its not a joke, theres a few like this, the car is rear wheel drive, the engine mounted in the front in this car. some have it in the rear. the engine is mounted in a straight line connected via propshaft to the rear axle. pretty simple layout but im sure it wasnt simple to engineer great piece of machinery!
