Remember this car. I’m not saying it’s the first time someone has given a car a graffiti-style rattle-can paint job, but I do think that this could mark the beginning of a new trend in car customization. Remember how flat black paint jobs caught on (again) a few years ago? One of the reasons they became so popular was because they didn’t require anything more than some masking tape, old newspapers, and some paint from the local hardware. Granted, a graffiti-style job will actually require artistic skill, but you still don’t have to worry about meticulously sanding surfaces or laying down multiple layers of primers, base coats, clear coats, and whatnot. People have now grown tired of DIY flat black, and while some of that trend has evolved into the current professional-quality matte finish craze, I’m gonna predict that the coming years’ SEMA shows will have a few tuner jobs sporting this graffiti style. Check out the gallery below to see how it’s done. [Source: Honda-Tech]

Really, on a Type R? And a white one at that! The poor thing…
The really practical problem with this is that I guarantee the cops in California will use this trend to hassle people. They can make an issue out of the fact that your paint color no longer matches the one listed on your registration. Believe me the cops out there will use any tool at their disposal to hassle people. I knew someone who did their car up all hippy style back in the 80’s and got pulled over and searched under that very pretense.
Just saying…
This method of painting seems to give birth to a modern 90’s import rat rod era, for practical yet attention grabbing design for your weekend warrior or track beaten drift car.

Just another take on art cars.
And when you get sick of it or bump into something, you just break out a few cans and fix it.

You are crazy……. WOW I really love that part paint graffiti on your car. One thing you can’t drive anywhere cops will stop on you and give ticket lol, you can bring to show cars…. BADASSS
No different than that bathing Ape guy covering exotics in stupid pink camouflage and green camouflage and other un-artistic shit.
Wow, does that make your car go faster?
dude your car looks pretty sweet and by doing that it makes your car your own thing, not something that everyone else has. guys that are trashing it, back off, its his car let him do whatever he wants. its art, appreciate it. If your too ignorant to say something good about it then why post at all?
Thats a damn nice looking job.
“Does that make your car go faster?”.. dumb question.. thats like criticizing someone for washing their car to make it look good, ASKIN IF IT HELPS PERFORMANCE..” (obviously they went with MACO)
Anyways, i got a white Teggy 96′, custom interior, and wanted somin’ along the lines of this -

Get a real writer to do that next time. You just wasted a bunch of good Panish Montana and killed a pefectly nice white paint job on a TYPE R. I hope you wreck this….
