IMG 7071 Team USA Live At 2008 Race Of Champions Day One

Team USA got their first taste of the 2008 Race of Champions action with a cold, wet and windy day at Wembley Stadium in London. Nascar phenom, Carl Edwards, and drifting champ, Tanner Foust, were thrown in the deep end along with the world’s best racers for a practice day on a slippery and wet track. Carl Edwards looked super smooth all day long taking to the tiny front wheel drive Abarth 500 especially well considering his rear drive round and round in the dry Nascar experience. Tanner, who is pretty much unknown to most here, raised eyebrows with his run in the motorcycle engined RX1150 buggy with some quick and smooth tail out laps. Both Tanner and Carl got rides with WRC Champ Sebastien Loeb–Carl in a KTM X Bow and Tanner in the Ford Focus WRC car. Team USA should hold their own against the world’s best tomorrow. Did we mention Michael Schumacher is here–he’s the guy with the dayglo orange helmet. And Lewis Hamilton is racing a Mercedes Mclaren against some guy on a bicycle on Sunday.
