Harold Carr, a former UK surgeon recently passed away, leaving locked garage to his nieces and nephews. Carr was reportedly something of an eccentric, giving in to obsessive compulsive tendencies that would lead him to hoard anything that could catch his eye. What was in the mad doctor’s garage? A Jaguar E-Type, an Aston Martin of unknown vintage and a Bugatti Type 57S Atalante. Way back in 1937, Bugatti built just 17 of these cars, and two of the known survivors exist only in a museum. Though it hadn’t been driven since 1960, the car is complete and all original, meaning it could fetch upwards of $8.7 million when it goes up for auction at Bonhams Retromobile show in Paris.
