You’re looking at McLaren’s take on the Dodge Viper. Built for the North American International Auto Show in 2006, the car received a few performance upgrades to help boost power to 615 – 115 over the base car at the time. Aside from adding a little gusto, McLaren also focused on ditching weight from the car by replacing the roof, trunk deck and hood with carbon fiber. Those changes managed to help ditch 85 lbs. The extra gusto and decreased weight helped to put the car in the 3.5-second 0-60 range. That number puts it on par with the current Viper, but it was a serious improvement over the stock version at four seconds three years ago. If you want the Diamondback, get ready to shell out $295,000. What? Too steep? Seems like a decent deal to us considering ASC, the company that commissioned the car, $750,000 to build the thing. McLaren did a great job on this one. The carbon fiber roof, trunk, deck and hood look really hot.
