Hyundai has handed down the official word: there will be no Genesis Coupe convertible. I guess the Korean company has fulfilled its quota of cool for the next few years. An insider told Edmunds Hyundai never intended to build a drop-head version of the lithe Genesis Coupe, despite a few internal ponderings early on. We can’t say the news is all bad. This means the Genesis will never suffer a heavy, poor handling model as a result of extra body structure and a top mechanism, nor will it grow an over-sized ass and suffer a retractable hard top.
