I’m always on the lookout for rare old cars that I’ve never heard of before. What really gets me excited are special versions of already quirky old machines, like the Citroën BX 4TC. The Saab 900 Enduro is such a car. Back in 1980, Saab Australia decided they needed a racy version of the 900 Turbo. So they cranked the turbo boost up to 17 PSI, bolted on some new rims and rubber under the flared fiberglass fenders, and slapped on a set of sweet stripes and stickers. With the suspension then tuned to handle all 175 horsepower, the result was one of the most rad Saabs ever built. Sadly, only 12 were made, and less half of those have survived. Now if we could just fit a Toppola camper on the back, then it might just be the most perfect Saab imaginable. [Source: Classic Saab]

Oooh. Walter would kill for one of those. though I know he’s already done more with the turbo boosts…
I have one. and will be restoring it when I’m ready to. The restoration will be detailed on my website: http://www.saab900enduro.com
