Disclaimer: Autoblog Damon is a good friend of mine. That said, el grande bastardo! Why? He got to drive a fleet — literally, a fleet – of supercars around an abandoned air strip in Florida, in an attempt to crack the double ton (200 mph). The cars? An Audi R8 (odd, since it can only do 200 mph when dropped from a plane), Ferrari F430, Mercedes-McLaren SLR and a pair of Lambos — the Gallardo Superleggera and LP560-4, respectively. I won’t totally spoil the ending for you, but I will say that this is the sort of supercar writing I can get behind. Why? Because Damon doesn’t pretend to be the all-conquering rebirth of Michael Schumacher. A rare quality these days. There’s no, “driving beyond the limit” nonsense. Also, Damon thinks the Gallardo LP560-4 is the best of the bunch. We could of told you that. Anyhow, it’s a great read, so read it.
