Check out this gem from the Melbourne Auto Show. It’s called the FR 1 Roadster, and despite its ’34 Ford looks, this sucker’s a mid-engine rear driver. The carbon fiber frame is wrapped in hand-formed aluminum and a Commodore Chevrolet 6.0-liter V8 is mated with a Ferrari 355 gearbox just behind the seats. Speaking of seats, that’s hand-stitched Australian leather you’d be parking your derriere on. The company says it expects the car to jump to 60 in around 3 seconds with no word on top speed. Of course, our bet is this sucker would spend more time parked in front of the club than in the paddock. It’s no ’74 XB Falcon, but I’d take it in a pinch. [Source: 0-60]

did these guys google “plymouth prowler” before spending all the time and money on this?
This looks like a very different car to the Prowler, if you apply your analogy, the styling on the F1 Maclaren shouldn’t have been thought of because it looks similar to the Jag XJR 15.Or the classic 260 Z Nissan from the Ferrari 250 GTO. ….I could go on for another page or two but can I suggest that you simply read a sports car history book or two!…better still go out and buy a automotive magazine
If you looked closer every thing from the placement of the primary masses through to the materials used and power plant are completely different.
All those open wheel 34 Ford derivatives come from the hot rod themed same space.
Why don’t you go to the fr-1 website http://www.autohorizon.com.au and read more about what you are looking at. When I checked it out they even had lots of photos for the visitors that can’t be bothered to read.
