Spitfire

If you’re fortunate enough to be celebrating Labor Day by working, hats off to you, Fiends. If not, enjoy those last throws of summer. I’m officially declaring this the week of updates, wherein I keep you all posted on all of the headaches I’ve pushed to the back burners over the past few weeks. Where better to start than with the Spit Saga. While a certain decision has put a strangle hold on all available funds, I’ve been able to plink away on a few of the less-expensive to fix issues as of late. The fuel tank has been removed, boiled, stripped, painted and coated and now waits instillation, and I’ve pulled the shifter from the parts Spit to fix the degraded unit in the ’69. I also knocked down as much of the rust as I could in the passenger floor board and shot it with some self-etching primer to slow the cancer. It’s not perfect, but it will do until I get bold and decide to have the whole thing media blasted. The really thrilling news is that the damn thing now runs. Hop the jump for a video of the chaos.

    Dude, how tall are you?

Either you’ve got a weird lense on that camera or you are some kind of Giant.

Also: congrats on getting the project running. I literally jumped up and down and did a dance when I got the LeMons 633 running.

Also: so…what’d you buy for the daily driver?

Haha. I’m no Jolly Green Giant. I used the 16-35 to fit the whole car in the frame and still have the camera pick up my voice. That and this car is really tiny.

Keep your toes crossed for an update on the daily driver later this week.
