camaro 2010 Chevy Camaro Specs Headed Your Way, Live

All the rumors, lies and speculation will be brought to a halt for a brief, shining moment this afternoon when GM unveils the newly resurrected 2010 Chevrolet Camaro. The car will be the last of the three horseman of the muscle car age, stepping up to the line with the 2010 Ford Mustang and the 2009 Dodge Challenger. We posted all we think we know when the stills of the car hit the web last week. Still, questions remain. Like what’s up w/that that RS Badge in those photos? And how can one car that now many people are going to be interested in generate so much damn press? Will Chevy meet Dodge’s Drag Package? All will be revealed at 4:00 pm EST. All the specs you want, after the jump.

For those of you that missed the webcast, here are the juicey details. The car is available in three trims: LS, LT and of course, SS. All models are available with an RS dress up package that includes HID headlights, etc. The LS and LT models both come standard with a 300 horsepower, 273 lb-ft of torque 3.6 V6. And the bad boy SS? It comes armed to the teeth with a 422 pony 6.2 LS3, but only as a manual. If you want an automatic, you have to opt for a 400 horse 6.2 V8. The little six gets a decent 26 mpg, but with the larger displacement mills reaching for an estimated 23 mpg highway, why stoop? Every one of the new Camaros come with independent suspension front and rear, but only the SS comes with “Competitive” mode for stability control as well as launch control. Ford and Dodge better check the rear-view. There’s a come-behind killer on the way.
