Never underestimate the auto-journo world’s willingness to take complete shots in the dark. Lamborghini has done a great job initiating a wave of head scratching with their “New World” teaser, with guesses ranging from a douse of retro to flirtation with the SUV realm (LM002! LM002!). Thanks to some loose lips at Lamborghini, word is the secretive car is the Raging Bull’s entry into the supersaloon arena. That’s right — a four door Lamborghini. Above is a four-seat Lambo, but as far as we know there has never been a four-door Bull, save the LM002 (LM002!). With all the German metal in the parts bin, this car could be powered by anything from a new V8, the Gallardo’s V10 or the Murci’s V12. And what if it was mid-engined? Mid-engine, V-dozen sedan? Now we’re dreaming out loud. Edmunds is saying that the New World car will probably share a chassis with the upcoming Audi A8. Competitors like Porsche’s Panamera, Aston Martin’s Rapide and BMW’s 8-series should be quaking in their boots. That is if this source is on the money, and not just pulling our Fiendish chain.
