Amazingly, it was Newman’s first crack at Le Mans (though he did use an escape road off the Mulsanne Straight at 4:30 am). Their car? A “dead stock” Porsche 935 Turbo (#70) with a turbocharged 2.85-liter flat-six that was good for 590 hp.
