Done with a day of 300kmh plus autobahning and drifting with a German Playboy Bunny, Tanner’s European Vacation continues with a tour of some the world’s finest tuning shops. We’ll get straight to it…Full words after the jump.
The last few days have been nothing short of a blur. We dedicated a few days to the German tuning companies and I had no idea what we were in for. Now before you go jumping to conclusions that the word “tuning” in Germany has anything to do with putting copper plumbing valves on boost solenoid lines to get 30 more hp out of your Eagle Talon (which absolutely works btw!) take a look at the following shots…
Please keep in mind that the photos cannot possibly do these cars justice. Just standing in front of the 430 Scuderia, knees bent, holding still with my iPhone clicking away was straight up Poindexter.
Now that it’s wholly owned by Mercedes Benz you can hardly call AMG a tuner… but either way, this was their beginning: The race winning 1971 300 SEL 6.3 liter Rote Sau. That means “Red Pig.”
The original version of this car was actually crashed testing the speed tolerances of an airplane tire…. Here is the latest rendition of the 6.3, the SL63, it will be my chariot for the next few days. Nice of them to give us the “pull-me-over red” version!

The new Series Black in… white.

Next stop, Novitec for their 730 hp 430 Scuderia… that’s right… 730 friggin hp!
This car was sooo good! Novitec makes everything in-house, including their electricity! With solar panels on rotating showrooms they make enough power to cover 45% of the closest town’s needs. I wish I had some video of the car. You have to check out the sound of a quick 300 kmh run (186 mph?)…
Great driving suit eh? The one in the case… at the bottom of the picture… see it?
This is an 817 hp 599 GTB… Yeah!
Flat black 430 heading to Russia…
