m3 BMW M3 Headed To Le Mans

That is if the company can get their car properly sanctioned and prepped for the changes in 2010 FIA rules. BMW wants to campaign its high-reving V8 fire-breather against the likes of the Chevrolet Corvette C6R and the plethora of Porsches in the Le Mans GT class. As of right now the car is built to spec for the American Le Mans GT2S class, which allows for greater modification from the original design than the FIA’s stricter rules do. BMW needs to get the M3 on the FIA’s list of approved vehicles and must agree to make any changes the sanctioning body sees fit before the race. We’d love to see the Bavarian bruiser mix it up with the usual suspects next year. The more the merrier. [Autoweek]
