Is it a Nissan day, or what? While the Japanese company is making waves going to war with Porsche, it’s also been busily working on an all-electric vehicle. We showed you the Cube-based EV a while back, branded the EV 02, and while that squared off prototype scoots around under its own gusto just fine, it looks like the future of electrics may have a few more curves. Nissan pulled the covers off its NuVu concept (sort for new view) at the Paris Motor Show, and while the little car carries plenty of concept-car quirkiness—hello creepy giant bird thing—there’s lots that may make it to a production EV eventually. The NuVu seats three adults, making it perfect for a small family living just outside of the city, and powered by lithium-ion batteries, it has a range of 80 miles and a top speed of 75 mph thanks to solar cells laced throughout the roof structure. Nissan plans to market an all-electric vehicle by 2010, just in time to compete with Chevrolet’s Volt. [Inhabitat]
