electric-porsche Ruf 911 All Electric

While German Porsche nuts Ruf had originally planned to work an all-electric powertrain into the Cayman, the company has opted for the bigger-bodied 997 911. With plenty of room for the extra 1,200 lbs of batteries and the capacity to sufficiently cool them, the 911 serves as a better donor than the svelte Cayman. Even with half a car’s worth of extra weight sandwiched over the Porsche’s wheels, the 204 horsepower electric motor can launch the EV 911 to 60 in less than seven seconds. The car gets a six-speed manual transmission and has (or should have) a range of up to 186 miles. Sadly the juiced 911 remains just a concept for now. Still, if we have to drive an electric, we’d pick this over the NuVu any day. [Source: MotorAuthority]
