It’s true. According to a report by Automotive News (subscription required), Volkswagen is looking into the possibility of bringing the super sexy coupe to the states as a limited edition model. With more power and likely a higher price tag, the car would be positioned above the current GTI in the lineup. Previous worries like a weak US dollar and the likelihood that the Scirocco would damage golf sales kept VW suits from bringing the car here to us, but the report says that with overwhelming demand for the Scirocco and a slightly beefier green back, it’s more of an “option.” The good news was confirmed by VW America spokesman Steve Keyes, so there’s some meat to the news.
