kitt Where For Art Thou, Top Gear USA?

Who knows. NBC hasn’t said a thing about the UK’s gift to car geekery or its US debut. What they have said is that the atrocity that is the Knight Rider remake is guaranteed another nine episodes — making it all the way through the remainder of the season. I was an impressionable tyke when the original was battering prime time and loved watching the first gen KITT out body-roll wit the baddies, so when the remake popped up, I watched the first episode. Or should I say I watched the first five minutes [Ed Note: Ditto]. I could take the bad acting. I could even swallow the poor plot line and worse special effects, but when the new KITT went through some sort of computer-generated bastardization, I switched it off. I hate to say it, but if that kind of trash entertainment succeeds as well as it has over here, maybe us yanks don’t deserve Top Gear USA. One bit of silver lining: Alex Nunez is a god among mortals.

We went to the pilot taping. It was actually pretty good. Hoping to see it show up on NBC. No one I have talked to, knows anything solid yet. Australia, got Top Gear.. now its our turn.
