The Fiends

Steve Levy: Editorial Director

At age nine months, Steve Levy traveled from London to the south of Spain in the hatch of a Jag E-Type 2+2—there were no autoroutes back then! Age 5 he burnt his leg on the ticking exhaust of his Dad’s Signal Orange Jensen Interceptor SP—the scar is still there. As a teenager he emigrated to SoCal and learned to drive in the Malibu canyons, and street raced an ’83 Rabbit GTI (license plate—CYNBUNY!) up and down Sepulveda. He has read every issue of CAR Magazine since 1991. He’s also the co-founder of Autofiends’ parent company, Overamerica Media Group. His automotive taste runs a wide gamut from F1 to drifting, sprinkled with off-road truck racing and rally too. Money-no-object there’d be a real deal ’74 IROC Porsche 911 in his garage—Conda Green, please!

Jonny Lieberman: Managing Editor

Jonny first learned the finer pleasures of mountain roads as a toddler on Decker Canyon strapped into his father’s 2+2 280Z. He’s had a poster of a Lamborghini Countach on his wall since he was eight-years-old. To this day his girlfriend still laughs at him. Since he can remember, his dream’s been to drive and write about cars. Especially fast ones. It doesn’t hurt if they can turn well and stop quickly, either. Jonny competes in the ALMS—American LeMons Seriesin a Mustang powered V8olvo under the pseudonym “Necrobutcher.” Though sometimes he’s referred to as “The Loverman.” He also heels and toes way too often. Mr. Lieberman brings his car-writing experience, automotive knowledge and endless passion for four-wheeled fun to Autofiends. Should you come across any posters of an Audi RS4 Avant, let him know.

Zach Bowman — Contributor

Zach Bowman is a freelance journalist out of Virginia with a passion for anything that puts rubber to the pavement. A graduate of the University of Mary Washington, Bowman splits his time between wrenching on his ailing rag-tag fleet and writing about the twisted world of the cars he loves…or something like that.

Chris Hull — Roving Reporter and CF Afficionado

Nor Cal native Chris Hull now resides in downtown LA where he feverishly scours the internet for content to post on his Carbon Fiber blog. When not wasting time doing that, Hull performs marketing duties for LA based streetwear brand Freshjive. He occasionally contributes to Intersection Magazine and gets deeply depressed when he misses an F1 race. Though he is embarrassed to admit that he uses auto shift in GT5, he still knows his way around the Daytona road course pretty well. A true Autofiend, Hull has attended races all over the world, crashed dozens of vehicles and even managed to get a speeding ticket in the first press car ever leant to him. Chris’s “realistic dream car” is a 1986 Mercedes Benz 2.3 16V. He’s been talking about it for years now.

Chris Hinojosa — Roving Reporter

One of the earliest memories Chris has is playing with a white pull-back Porsche 911. Fast-forward a couple of decades, and he’s still playing with cars, real and digital. When Chris is done playing, he continues to play some more as a US producer for a much loved Sony PlayStation driving/simulator (guess the name). Ask him what his favorite digital car is and you’ll get a different answer every time, but his real-world dream car is an Inka Orange 1973 BMW 2002tii.
