The company has just released details on both the 2009 335d sedan and the X5 xDrive35d SUV, and so far fuel economy and power numbers look impressive. [...]

In light of the venomous rumors that BMW would not be selling their diesel 335d until sometime next year, the Bavarian auto maker has stated that the cars will start production in September, just in time for November 2008 sales. The 335d’s will be sold as 2009 models and should get up to 33 mpg [...]

[Update: Well... color us embarrassed. Turns out that the 3-Series we spotted is none other than the new 335d -- and the "d" stands for diesel. Our friends at the BimmerFile have rightly pointed out that the small circle behind the rear wheel is in fact an "AdBlue filler cap" for the urea injection system. [...]
